Lisa, a parent herself, wrote THE BOOK "I'm Doing The Best I Can!" (They won't always be cute and adorable), during a very important time in her life... those TEENAGE YEARS! You know, the time you start shouting "I'm doing the best I can, there's no book!!!" The time when you look at your child's behavior and say, "how in the world did this happen, I was always right here,." or "I was there to take care of him and I was always there when he got home from school. I even made sure his friends were nice....how did this happen?"

Lisa will take you all the way back to when you brought this beautiful bundle of joy home from the hospital and show you just how it happened while encouraging you to make positive changes to have a healthy and happy family.

We all want to give our children everything we didn't have. We tell ourselves that we don't want to treat our children the way we were treated. We want nothing but the best for our children, and trust me it's okay to feel these feelings. But, if we want to do things differently than what we already know, get ready to accept repercussions from trying so hard to make them happy.

It is time for us, as parents, to step up to the plate and take a long hard look at our behavior. What messages are we telling our children. Do they feel entitled to everything they see? Do they expect you to live up to their expectations yet never giving anything back in return? Do they make a scene because you won't give them what they want? And to think, this is what is happening by the time they are 4! Can't you just wait until they are 14?

We must set boundaries, stay consistent, and not worry if we are their friend. They will love us not matter what! Believe this and know that you are there to build healthy, respectable young people.

Let's bring back the 'family unit!' Go back to the time when everyone chipped in. Encourage each other and show appreciation at how important each person in the family really is. Do chores together, spend quality time with one another (without any interruptions....cell phones, etc.), put some fun music on and really enjoy each other's company.
