Member Information
Blossom is a one-of-a-kind school in the state of Florida educating children ages 2.5 through 15 years old. While we believe that every child can learn, we also believe that any child can easily be left behind. Because of this, Blossom implements an extremely individualized course of study for each and every child, combining the philosophy of Montessori with expertise in Deaf education. It creates the perfect environment for a student of any ability wishing to learn American Sign Language.

Additional Information:
Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf is the "dream come true" of founder and director Julie Rutenberg. As a child who attended a Montessori school, and as an adult who is involved in the Deaf community, she originally founded the school for deaf and hard of hearing children, but has since expanded to hearing children who can indeed benefit from a Montessori environment.
Blossom is unique in that our enrollment already includes many hearing children, as they have deaf parents or deaf siblings. Students of all abilities learn and grow in an environment that offers them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to understand a culture much different from their own, and to learn American Sign Language, a language that transcends all geographic barriers.
